Author, speaker, and food historian Jackie Williams has been awarded the Pacific Northwest Historians Guild 2008 History Award. Her Washington State University Press book, The Way We Ate, was published in 1996.

In Fall 2007 Catastrophe to Triumph was selected for the "Washington Reads" program, a quarterly selection of thought-provoking books chosen by the Washington State Librarian to highlight treasures in their collections. the theme was "Disasters." Visit the library web page for more information.
